Unit 4 Reflection

Image
In this 4th Unit, I learned about the industry of music, about the big influence that has the African American in the music. I learned about the blues, the big movements that they did in history. My Aha moment was when I knew that British artists were influenced by African American music. I learned that most of the new artists are puppets of the big industries, and they can be changed at any moment. My Bumper Sticker: The science does experiments to see which songs and artists are going to be popular, In the 70s the Rap was made in the poor neighborhoods of New York by African Americans to express their selves. This could be important to me because some genres of music or artists that I listen to are inspired by the culture of African Americans.

The first is about a genre that was new for me. the second one is about a song of my parents' generation, the third one is about my generation's values the forth one is about a lyric song that I can explain and the last one is about my favorite song.  Link:  https://www.pinterest.com/inesortega591/

Song

A song that moves me a lot was Ruins by William Black. This song touches me because reminds me of when I was in Mexico and I had depression when I was nine years old. I started to get depressed after my dad live us when he came to the U.S. I started to feel alone after that but passing the years I started to feel fine again. I feel more connected when I read the reasons why the artist wrote this song.  William Black. Ruins  – Since I was young I have had an ongoing struggle with depression and not feeling good enough despite all the good around me. It set the stage for decisions I’ve made throughout my life. Lyrics: Forgive me I know that I don't feel okay Forget me I'm sorry if you see my face It's the way that the wind blows When the sky gets so dark I disguise my own heart Just to feel alone.  Song:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YSPJR54IVRg

In this 3rd Unit. I learned about the history of movies, about why we crave horror movies, I learned that 1st animation was funny faces 1906 and the different images were taken in different shots. I learned about the golden age, I learned about Hollywood's formula: a "post-sex scene" in bed, a character dying and another character closing their open eyes after they take their last breath, etc. I learned about Tyler Perry an American actor, writer, producer, and director but the most important thing that I learned about Tyler Perry is that he does not follow Hollywood's formula, he made movies for African Americans, and recently he was People's magazine cover. My Aha moment was when I knew that Hollywood was made in the 1920s, and I learned that some studios that I use to watch are some of the firsts studios of Hollywood as Warner Brothers, Paramount, 20th Century Fox, Universal, Columbia & Metro Goldwyn Meyer. This surprises me a lot because I didn't kno...
